It was a lucky trip to McDonald’s for one man last week as customer Josiah Vargas discovered $5,000 in cash when he opened up his bag of fast food, documenting the entire thing on his TikTok page.
“I just went to McDonald’s and [they] handed me my Sausage Egg McMuffin and this bag,” Vargas said in the viral video. “But what’s in the bag? Their f**king deposit. Why? Just a couple thousand dollars here…So now I have to return this because I’m a good person, I guess. How interesting.”
The video clocked over 2 million views within a short time after posting, vaulting Vargas into the realm of short form content creators who have experience shocking success, and made short form content news headlines in the process.
“Are you guys laundering money out of here?” while handing over the bag of cash to employees. Vargas later told his viewers that – “I cut that short, but they were all just hugging me and thanking me and crying. And I get free McDonald’s for a month, I guess,” adding that he was given $200 in cash.
